What happens when you press play

Normally the player downloads the IMA SDK and runs a break before and during the programme. With AdOff active, the SDK request is redirected to a bundled stub. The player asks the stub to start the ad, the stub answers "content resume requested", and playback continues as if the break had already finished. Everything happens locally in the browser; the video stream itself is not modified.

Public broadcaster and commercial groups, same entry point

RTVE is public, Atresmedia and Mediaset España are commercial — yet their browser players converge on the same ad SDK. That shared dependency is why one extension can cover all of them with a single mechanism. It also explains the contrast with subscription streaming, where ads are stitched into the stream server-side and the extension stays out by design.

Does AdOff block ads on RTVE?

In most cases yes: when the RTVE web player loads advertising through the Google IMA SDK, AdOff substitutes a stub that resumes the programme immediately. Live streams and sport may use different pipelines where results vary.

Can I skip the ads on Atresplayer for free?

AdOff is a free browser extension that neutralises the ad SDK in the Atresplayer web player, so pre-rolls and mid-rolls usually do not play. Atresplayer Premium is a separate commercial product; AdOff does not interact with your account.

Does it also work on Portuguese channels like RTP?

Yes. RTP, TVI and SIC are covered by the same mechanism when their browser players request the standard ad SDK. The coverage list includes both the Spanish and Portuguese markets.

Does it work on the Mitele app or a smart TV?

No. AdOff is a desktop browser extension only. Native mobile apps, smart TV apps and casting sessions are outside its reach.

Is anything about my RTVE or Atresplayer account affected?
