An ad blocker for catch-up TV and streaming services
Most broadcaster players load Google's IMA advertising SDK to schedule the pre-rolls and mid-rolls you sit through before a programme. AdOff swaps that SDK for a neutral stub: when the player asks which ads to show, the answer is "none", and playback begins. AdOff ships an explicit list of 42 broadcaster domains it handles this way.
How SDK neutralisation works
Rather than fighting individual ad URLs, AdOff intercepts the request for the advertising SDK and serves a neutral replacement from inside the extension. The replacement answers every question the player asks, reports that no ads are available and immediately signals "resume content". The player carries on as though the ad break were empty — no countdown, no waiting.
Which services are covered
AdOff carries a named list of broadcaster domains covering public and commercial catch-up services: RaiPlay, Mediaset Infinity and La7 in Italy; BBC, ITVX, Channel 4 and Channel 5 in the UK; ZDF, ARD Mediathek, RTL+, Joyn, ServusTV and ORF in German-speaking countries; france.tv, TF1, 6play, Arte and myCANAL in France; RTVE, Atresplayer, Mitele and laSexta in Spain; RTP, TVI and SIC in Portugal; Globoplay in Brazil; SRF, RSI and RTS in Switzerland; plus discovery+, Pluto TV, Tubi and PBS.
Why some premium services are deliberately left alone
There are two separate reasons, and AdOff treats both the same way. Some services stitch their ads into the video stream on the server, so the ad and the programme arrive as a single piece and there is nothing separate to intercept — their player needs the genuine advertising SDK simply to fetch the stream. Others carry no ads to remove in the first place, and swapping their SDK would push the player into an error rather than skip anything. Prime Video and Paramount+ fall in the first group, Netflix in the second. AdOff excludes all of them on purpose instead of pretending to handle them, so the player keeps its real SDK and works normally.
What this does not cover
The approach works where the player uses the common IMA advertising standard. A service that switches to server-side ad insertion, or that uses its own proprietary ad system, will not be affected by it — live-streaming platforms that splice ads directly into the broadcast are the usual example. We would rather name that limit than let you find it yourself.
Free, with no account
SDK neutralisation is part of the free download. There is no account to create, no card and no trial that runs out. It applies from the first page you open.
Frequently asked questions
Does this remove ads on every streaming site?
It works where the player uses the common IMA advertising standard, which covers most broadcaster catch-up services. Services that insert ads into the stream on the server side are not affected.
Why does nothing change on some premium platforms?
Because AdOff excludes them on purpose. Either their player needs the genuine advertising SDK just to fetch the stream, or it carries no ads to remove and interfering would only break playback. In both cases replacing the SDK would stop the video rather than stop the ads.
Is it free?
Yes, included in the free download with no account required.

Start the programme, not the ad break
AdOff answers the player's ad request with an empty one, so catch-up TV starts where it should. Free, no account.
