Extract the ZIP file
Find the adoff-chrome.zip file in your Downloads folder.
Windows: Right-click the file → "Extract All..." → "Extract"
Mac: Double-click the ZIP file. A folder is created automatically.
Linux: Right-click → "Extract Here" or run

Important: Do not delete this folder after installation! The browser needs the folder to remain on your computer. Put it somewhere safe (e.g. Documents).

Open Chrome Extensions page
Open Chrome and type

Enable Developer Mode
In the top-right corner of the extensions page, find a toggle labeled "Developer mode".
Click to enable it (it should turn blue).

Load the extension
After enabling Developer Mode, new buttons appear at the top.
Click "Load unpacked" (the first button on the left).

Select the AdOff folder
Navigate to the folder you extracted in Step 1.
Select the adoff-chrome folder and click "Select Folder" (Windows/Linux) or "Open" (Mac).

Done! AdOff is installed! You'll see the icon in Chrome's toolbar.

Pin AdOff to the toolbar (recommended)
To keep AdOff always visible in the browser toolbar:
1. Click the puzzle piece icon in the top-right (Extensions icon)
2. Find "AdOff" in the list
3. Click the pin next to AdOff

Extract the ZIP file
Same as Chrome: find adoff-chrome.zip in Downloads, right-click → "Extract All..."
Important: Keep the extracted folder on your computer. Do not delete it.

Type in the address bar:

In the bottom-left of the page, enable "Developer mode".

Click "Load unpacked" and select the extracted adoff-chrome folder.

Click "Load Temporary Add-on..."

On Firefox, manually loaded extensions are temporary — they are removed when you close Firefox. You need to reload them each time. We are working on publishing to the Firefox Add-ons Store for permanent installation.

On Android, you need a browser that supports extensions. We recommend Kiwi Browser (free) or Firefox Android.

Download Kiwi Browser from the Google Play Store. It's free and supports Chrome extensions natively.

Open this page in Kiwi Browser and download adoff-chrome.zip. Extract the ZIP using your file manager.

In Kiwi Browser, go to

Do I need to keep the folder on my computer? ▼
Yes! The browser reads the extension files from the folder. If you delete it, the extension stops working. Put it somewhere safe (e.g. Documents).
Is it safe to enable Developer Mode? ▼
Yes, it's completely safe. Developer Mode simply lets you install extensions from a folder instead of the store. It doesn't change anything else in the browser.
The browser says "Disable developer extensions" — what do I do? ▼
Some browsers show a warning on startup when you have manually installed extensions. Simply close the warning. The extension continues to work normally. When AdOff is on the official store, this warning will disappear.
How do I update AdOff? ▼
Download the new version from the site, extract the ZIP into the same folder (overwrite files), then go to your browser's extensions page and click the "Reload" arrow on the AdOff extension.
Does it work on all sites? ▼
Yes! AdOff blocks ads on all websites: video platforms, social media, news sites, blogs, and any other site. You can also pause blocking on specific sites if needed.
How do I uninstall AdOff? ▼
Go to your browser's extensions page, find AdOff and click "Remove". Then you can delete the folder from your computer.

AdOff supports all Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc) with 100% feature compatibility, and Firefox with 95% compatibility. On Android, use Kiwi Browser or Firefox. Safari and iOS support are coming soon.
Does it work on mobile? ▼
On Android, install Kiwi Browser (free from Play Store) which supports Chrome extensions. On iOS, browser extensions are not supported yet — we're working on it.
